The situation
Elev8 Football is the year-round training arm of an elite youth soccer business. Parents pay serious seasonal fees, so the site has to look professional and make program details easy to find.
The bigger constraint was technical: it had to run on the same custom theme platform as the group’s other sites, so an update ships once instead of four times.
What I did
I built a custom classic theme with no page builder, and editable layouts in ACF Pro Flexible Content.
- 10 reusable section types: hero, programs, stats, testimonials, call to action, sponsors, video, content and image, cards, and team.
- Hero variants for a single image, a slideshow or self-hosted video.
- Light and dark mode that follows the visitor’s system setting, and a header that turns solid on scroll.
- Vite and Browser Sync for development, an SCSS token system, and inline Phosphor icons.
- One shared platform with ESS Cup, Bay Area Surf Cup and Retain Players.
