Bronx Little Italy and Ferragosto
Two neighborhood sites hit 109% of their hosting storage. Instead of a bigger plan, I scripted an audit and a cleanup.

The situation
I look after two WordPress sites for the same client, bronxlittleitaly.com and ferragosto.com, on one shared GoDaddy plan. The plan hit 109% of its storage, about 33 GB of 30 GB, and the client could no longer upload images. The host’s answer was a bigger plan.
What I did
I wrote a script to measure where the space was actually going, then cleaned up from the report instead of guessing.
- Old migration backups were the biggest culprit: about 6.6 GB on one site and 5.5 GB on the other.
- Image optimizer backup copies added up to 4,739 files, about 1.1 GB across both sites.
- Deployed a cleanup script to remove them safely.
I have also designed the neighborhood’s lamppost banners for several years, so the same person looks after the website and the street.
